Durham Dirty Work is a two day hands-on training opportunity with multiple class options that encompass engine and truck company functions on the fire ground. Here, theory meets the grit of practical application as you dig into disciplines that demand hands-on expertise and plain hard work. With an instructor cadre that is made up of seasoned, down to earth firefighters, you are guaranteed to learn real, practical knowledge from actual experiences. Whether it’s mastering fundamental techniques or navigating complex challenges, these courses are designed to equip you with the tactics and skills to succeed.

Yes. We have MSA & SCOTT SCBA’s for students flying in to borrow.

3 Total Days. 1 night of lecture followed by 2 days of hands-on training

$200. One catered dinner and 2 lunches will be provided.

You can choose 2 classes to take. 1 for each day of hands-on training. **If you choose to attend the Live Fire Bundled Up Engine Course, that will be your only class as it is a 16 hour class.

Yes, out of state attendees will have to pay $70 to Durham Technical Community College. Due to this, all out of state attendees will receive a free conference t-shirt.

No. But you must be a certified firefighter to participate in any Live-Fire Evolutions.
